Concerts SA was honored to have Lloyd Ross create our new concerts SA documentary Keeping the Music Alive. (see below) Follow the link for an interview with Lloyd on SABC News. Lloyd Ross founded Shifty records in 1983, a platform for independent South African musicians opposed to apartheid, and worked with many of SA's legendary artists, before he moved into documentary filmmaking in the mid 1990s where his work has received international acclaim.

The Festival Enterprise Catalyst (FEC) project is a joint initiative by the National Arts Festival, Nasionale Afrikaanse Teater-inisiatief (NATi), Concerts SA, SAMRO, Woordfees, Aardklop, Suidooster Fees, KKNK and the Tribuo Fund. With support from the National Treasury’s Jobs Fund, the FEC will invest R20 million over two years to create, present and support works, tour works across the country and through the Festival network and build the capacity of creative enterprises. The project has been created with a R10 million commitment from the Jobs Fund and an additional R10 million from the partners.

As South Africa’s leading live music support project, Concerts SA proudly to announce 62 live music tours to take place in southern Africa. Over 600 expressions of interest in the programme were received from established practitioners to emerging music professionals from all parts of South Africa, and across a wide range of genres.
