Andre Le Roux is the Managing Director of IKS Cultural Consulting, Head of the Concerts SA Project, on the board of the Market Theatre Foundation and, as well as the Southern African Ambassador for the African Culture Fund, based in Mali. Andre is a highly regarded African cultural activist, arts manager/administrator and advisor on cultural policy for government, and the private sector at local and international level. He was the Managing Director of the Southern African Music Rights Organization (SAMRO) Foundation, the largest Music Copyright Society in Africa, and Executive General Manager of Corporate Affairs (Legal, Brand, Marketing and Communications) and the SAMRO Foundation founder and Managing Director. At the time, the SAMRO Foundation was the largest private contributor to music development in the Southern African region and SAMRO is the largest music rights society on the African continent, and respected across the world.
He also served on the boards of the Arterial Network of South Africa (Chairman), the University of Stellenbosch Music Centre, Klein Karoo Kunste Fees (Karoo National Arts Festival), Moshito Music Conference & Exhibition 2009-2011 (Chairman) the South African Coalition for Cultural Diversity (Chairman), South African Music Export Council – SAMEX (Vice Chairman) and the International Federation of Coalitions for Cultural Diversity (IFCCD), Music Industry Standards Generating Body (SGB) for curriculum and skills development.
He also worked for the National Arts Council of SA, the National Department of Arts and Culture, the Eastern Cape Provincial Department of Arts and Culture, Institute For Democracy in South Africa developing research on local cultural policy for the City of Cape Town.
