The jazz ecosystem across the globe is imploding. Amersfoort Jazz Festival, celebrating its 42nd birthday in 2020, 15-year old partner JazzNL and IKS Cultural Consulting joined forces at the annual World Jazz Conference to assess this situation and explore ways to help the international jazz community survive.
We often turn to art in difficult times. However, the measures taken to tackle the global coronavirus pandemic have also made our access to art more difficult. All over the world, cinemas, concert venues, theatres, museums, operas, galleries, and even bookshops have been closed.
The African music sector continues to be affected by a lack of reliable statistics and data that inform strategies and policies. As a result, many music practitioners on the continent are not able to fully monetise their works.
With a wealth of knowledge, experience and professionalism, we have worked with organisations in local, provincial and national government in South Africa, Southern Africa, across the African continent and internationally.
